Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Remove barriers for citizen to vote, it should be easy for every citizen to vote. For example, bringing the voting process into veteran’s communities and neighborhoods where families only mode of getting around is public transportation.
  • Encourage participation from all citizens; through voter registration drives targeting youth, the disadvantaged, and starting a program explaining the voting process in step by step plain language that everyone can understand.
  • Bring voting into the 21 century by replacing our outdated voting systems with updated ones that produce a paper ballot for manual counts, enable the disabled to vote the same as everyone else, and prevent ballots from being incorrectly marked.

I was born, raised, and educated all within Fresno County. As children, my parents worked in the fields alongside my grandparents. While raising their own children, my mother and father worked minimum wage jobs until finally, through unionized employment, they were able to pull us out of poverty.

My mother and I were both born at Fresno Community Hospital. I attended Clovis schools from kindergarten through high school. I studied at Fresno City College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Social Science and went on to study at Fresno State.

As a student, I supported myself by working as a retail manager, where I learned to lead by example while I supervised 50 employees. By juggling school and work, I came to understand the importance of leadership and managing several priorities simultaneously. I have also been heavily involved in community outreach and organizing. As a teen, I founded a youth civic engagement group and participated in The Junior State of America. As a young adult, I took part in an organization that redistributed unused food that would have otherwise gone to waste. This was how I realized my passion for good governance, honest leadership, and community service.

While attending Fresno State, I started working as a public servant in an entry-level position in a mailroom. Through hard work and dedication, I navigated my way up to higher positions: I was eventually the manager of that same mailroom, and now, in my current position as Public Tax Advisor, I provide free counseling and advice to the community. My decade long career as a public servant and involvement in civic engagement has led me to realize the importance of the community’s voice in decisions made about Fresno.

With this uniquely Fresnan background and set of experiences, I am ready to take on a larger role in the community by representing the diverse people that call Fresno County home. I am committed to help create an accessible, updated, and efficient electoral system. For these reasons, I’ve decided to run to be your next Fresno County Clerk.
