Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Organize to HOLD Democratic seats in CA, turn red seats blue, and take Senate seats in the West and take back the White House! This is our shared mission in 2020.
  • Empower emerging leaders, register voters, and mobilize in support of issues and for candidates making a difference for working families. Partner with grassroots organizers to Get Out The Vote & pass progressive policy at every level.
  • Fight for our families in both election and non-election cycles, supporting policy change that levels the field for all of us: Fair wages, homes for all, full funding for schools and take action to reverse climate change!

12+ years of organizing within our community and beyond provides a wealth of experience in reaching out, listening, and understanding the issues that matter – one individual at a time. My passion lies in bringing out the best in everyone and helping them find where they can successfully contribute to efforts that lift and empower all of us, collectively as well as individually.

My “sweet spot” lies at the intersection of both my skills and passion: using purposeful communication and community-building to help others embody and share the core values of Respect, Empowerment, and Inclusion.

I began my journey organizing within our schools in coalition with students, parents, educators and community members, advocating for access, inclusion and wellness. Our first step was respecting the passion and purpose of students.  Our job was to empower those with the least power at the table to direct their own community from within.  I was privileged to mentor students on their journey to becoming skilled activists, outreach leaders, and to create real change.  Sustainable change is not something you “do” for others; sustainable change is something we build together when we work in partnership on a shared mission.

Those organizing skills gained in our local community have been put to use across the country from 2016 through today in the world of politics and policy.  After the 2016 election cycle I joined Organizing for Action as a Fellows Manager and trainer working with activists, advocates and leaders across the Bay Area.  During the electoral season I shifted my efforts to local and Bay Area campaigns, in flipping California's Central Valley, and working as Swing Left's Regional Organizing Coach in North Carolina leading into the 2018 primaries. I love the passion of emerging leaders and am heartened that powerful progressive movements have made democracy something tangible, real and powerful in our nation.

Political action is not just about an election cycle, and the Democratic County Central Committees should not operate only as a vehicle for incumbents and candidates.  Our central committee should act to support policy change that benefits Alameda County communities, allows working families to live where they work, and improves the health of our planet.  As an issues organizer I have focused my efforts on healthcare for all, voting, defending immigrant communities and empowering emerging leaders, climate action, reproductive justice, and social and economic justice issues, particularly in under resourced communities.

I am honored to have received the endorsement of the Asian Pacific American Democratic Caucus, and the endorsement of powerful leaders including Hayward Council Member Aisha Wahab, LGBT Democratic Caucus NorCal Chair Tiffany Woods, community activists Amaya Wooding and Lisa Stambaugh, CA public educator Ryan Howard, and CA nurse and community leader Dotty Nygard.  Our party works best when it is grounded in shared values, shared mission, and community partnerships that include labor, community leaders, electeds and all stakeholders.

I absolutely believe we must do this work defending our beloved communities in partnership with each other. That fundamental belief to respect, empower and include voices from across our whole community shaped my work on Tri-City's "Families Belong Together" rally in coalition with Mujeres y Unidas and MoveON, the intersectionality of Indivisible Alameda County's Women's Strike at Niles Pie, and the powerful work required of coalition members and organizations to pass SB 54 defending our entire California communities.

I want to bring those values, my skills and the perspective gained in over twelve years working to build diverse intersectional movements to our Democratic County Central Committee.  I am a community organizer who gets up every morning working for our community, I respectfully ask for your vote and your support.
