Biografía

I’m a native of San Diego County and have been a local business owner for 32 years, my 45 years of leadership experience makes me very capable to handle most situations.I’m an award winning, expert insurance broker. Besides winning many awards from my former company, I’ve been recognized by the Santee Chamber as one of the Santee’s Businesses of the Year.

As a business leader, I have previously served as a Board Member and Past-President of the Santee Chamber of Commerce. With the help of other Chamber members, we were instrumental in establishing the Santee Street Fair now one of the biggest street fairs in the county.

Currently as an elected member of the Santee City Council, my duties include Board Memberships on:
MTS (Metropolitan Transit System), SANDAG Borders Committee, SANDAG Regional Planning Committee (MTS Rep), and 1st Alternate to the SANDAG Board of Directors. My prior committee duties have included CSA 69 Medical, Heartland Communications, and Mission Trails Committee. Personally, I’m also a Board Member for The Santee Lake Foundation, and member of the Santee-Lakeside Rotary. My personal goal is to bring Rotary’s official motto “Service Above Self” to my work at the Santee City Council.

I have been committed to helping promote business both as a business leader and a Council Member. I’ve worked with other Santee community groups and events including: Santee Santa’s, Santee Relay for Life, and the Santee Car Show.

My wife and I live in Santee, she’s a longtime Santee resident, retired Registered Nurse, and an active Realtor. She is an elected Board Member of the Grossmont Healthcare District. We both live and work in Santee and attend Pathways Community Church.

We spend much of our time volunteering for many organizations in Santee as well as supporting local Santee businesses and causes. I have included a list of my 50 elected official endorsements and many community leaders. I’m able to work with elected officials from all parties and promoting collaboration, creating vision-focused thinking, and moving our community needs forward. Issues with constituents remain important to me. I will continue to answer my phone, meet with you personally, respond to emails, and be accessible on social media. I would be happy to receive your vote.

Preguntas y Respuestas

Preguntas de The League of Women Voters San Diego (4)

Do you support increasing the housing density in your district of the City of Santee? What other options might there be for improving the City's supply of affordable housing?
Respuesta de Ronn Hall:

District 2 has little area to grow due to the higher commercial area. Growth is beneficial to ensure new and ongoing projects are properly funded.  Police, Fire, Parks, infrastructure and traffic control benefit from developer fees.  There is an area just outside Mast Blvd by the Lakeside baseball fields an area that might be considered for affordable housing.  However, the traffic on Highway 52 and city streets needs to be addressed before future housing should be considered.

Do you approve of the City's current approach to addressing the problems of homelessness? What specific changes, if any, would you make?
Respuesta de Ronn Hall:

The City of Santee’s current approach to the homeless seems to be working.  I would like to add more frequent patrols in the riverbed to help those who would like help and remove those who need help.

Do you support any specific projects to promote economic activity in the City? Why or why not?
Respuesta de Ronn Hall:

Businesses can help the City financially.  Access to our city is important to promoting growth. The 52 Collation will help allow this to happen.  As for specific projects to promote economic activity in the City the movie theater project will help bring sales tax into our city.

Do you believe that the Citizens Law Enforcement Review Board (CLERB) has adequate independence, authority, and resources to provide effective civilian review, if there are allegations of sheriff deputy misconduct in the City of Santee? What changes, if any, do you think should be made to that body?
Respuesta de Ronn Hall:

A Citizen's Law Enforcement Review Board should be able to handle most allegations.  If brought to my attention, I would make sure the current City Manager and Sheriff's Captain, and former Captains were made aware of the complaint and investigated.

Filosofía política

As promised, during my first term, I helped create new jobs, protect local taxes, fixed infrastructure, updated local parks, and made public safety a top priority bringing the crime rate is down.  Santee has to have a balanced budget and we must stay on this successful path.

I’m enthusiastic to continue to serve as your councilman. Your issues remain important to me. I will continue to answer my phone, meet with you personally, respond to emails, and be accessible on social media. I am dedicated to working with you to provide a great future for the people of Santee. An exciting example includes a new movie theater complex, a top request for Santee residents.

I am also working with Mayor John Minto, federal, state, and other agencies to develop a “Real Fix to the 52”.

As a long time Santee business owner, former Chamber of Commerce President and board member, Rotarian, Community Volunteer, and Council Member, I embrace and encourage the philosophy of “Live, Work, Shop, and Play in Santee.”

Public opinion has elevated Santee to a higher stature. It is now viewed by many as one of the best run East County Cities.  Join me and Santee citizens as we proactively keep our city on the best track!
