Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Strengthen the district's ability to identify and service students struggling with mental health issues.
  • Provide immediate interventions for students who are at-risk in the areas of academics, behavior and social emotional.
  • Ensure the district's teachers and parents are provided the necessary resources to support the whole child.

I believe that children in El Monte deserve the finest education offered anywhere. I am running because I have the passion and energy to be part of making that a reality. I am a proud, lifelong resident of El Monte.  My mother is a loyal El Monte City School District employee who has worked as an Administrative School Secretary for the last 25 years.

I have been a dedicated advocate for the children of my community for over a decade.  I continue to volunteer with community organizations in El Monte to support literacy, promote a college-going culture, and raise funds to support families and children. I pursued a career as a School Psychologist so I could help the most challenged students reach their potential. In my profession, I apply my expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help students succeed academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally.

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Pitzer College while also volunteering in El Monte schools. I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from Azusa Pacific University while teaching in El Monte classrooms. I recently earned an Administrative Credential from Cal Poly Pomona to further my knowledge of the education field.

My background, education and experience have prepared me to serve on the Governing Board of EMCSD in a way that will positively impact students and families as I will be a current voice. I see a need in this election for a School Board member who knows firsthand what is occurring in the classrooms with students.
