Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Managing growth to deal with residential density, traffic, and safe routes to school while protecting our quality of life.
  • Restoring fiscal discipline to fund infrastructure, to deal with the growing pension deficit, and to sustain services that contribute to our enviable quality of life.
  • Increasing affordable housing options by working collaboratively with other cities.

I have lived all my life in this valley, first in Los Gatos and for the past 40 years in Los Altos with my husband Mike and daughter Erica.  I held management positions in the public sector, then started my own management consulting business where I worked with private and public sector organizations for 20+ years. I then bought and re-vitalized a company with clients in 32 countries. Throughout my career I helped people in organizations solve problems and work together more effectively. Although retired,  I have spent the past four years devoted to Los Altos, serving first on the Downtown Buildings Committee and then the Planning Commission. I hold a BA from Santa Clara University and Masters in Public Service from the University of San Francisco.

Filosofía política

The City Council form of government is closest to the people. That is why I want to serve. We must put residents' interest first. Council should be fully transparent. We must explain issues fully and discuss options openly, with the broadest possible input from residents. I am a fiscal conservative. Council needs to spend money wisely. Budget shortfalls will adversely affect safety, street and sewer maintenance, and other critical services. We cannot fund every good idea; that would require raising taxes that hurt vulnerable seniors and young families. I spent 30 years of my professional career getting people to discuss issues openly and reach agreement based on common interests. We can do the same in City government.
