Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Improve Student Success: establish a Two-Year Promise so students can graduate on time or make their next career move.
  • Support Our Community: lower barriers to education and help make San Francisco a livable city for our students, faculty, and staff.
  • Embrace Innovation: foster partnerships that connect our students to the jobs of tomorrow with bold, environmentally-friendly, local initiatives.

Biografía

I’m an educator with over a decade of professional experience in higher education and the belief that City College can help every student achieve academic success, career development, and lifelong learning.

I understand the struggles of our most vulnerable students. I immigrated from Spain at 12 years old without speaking English and struggled to graduate from high school and make ends meet to put myself through community college and a four-year university.

I know the power of education. I’m a first-generation college graduate who went on to earn a Ph.D., become a decorated U.S. Army Officer, an educator, a senior administrator of one of the most diverse universities in the country, and a City Commissioner.
