Schubert is on the Board of Directors, California District Attorney’s Association.
In 2002, Schubert formed the DA's Cold Case Prosecution Unit and served as its first prosecutor. She is nationally recognized as a forensic DNA expert.
In 2016, Schubert formed the task force to dedicate resources and lead the effort to identify the East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer.
Anne Marie Schubert has 28 years of law enforcement experience, fighting for victims, and putting dangerous career criminal behind bars. As District Attorney and a local prosecutor, Schubert has sent some of the area’s most notorious and dangerous criminals – murderers, rapists and child molesters – to state prison.
Through Schubert’s leadership, the Sacramento DA’s office has created innovative programs using DNA evidence to capture killers and sex offenders, helping the children of our community by combatting truancy, and honoring those citizens who have provided service to justice with the development of the annual Outstanding Citizen Awards.

Anne Marie Schubert was raised in Sacramento, went to local schools and is raising her children here. She was elected as Sacramento County's District Attorney in 2014 with the support of former District Attorney Jan Scully, Sheriff Scott Jones, police, deputy sheriff, and correctional officer associations, as well as every leading crime victims’ organization.
