Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Repeal the revenue neutrality agreement with the County of Santa Barbara. We are loosing $8 million every year to the county and it will continue to grow every year with no end in sight. I will fight for our city to get that money back.
  • Stop the over development of Goleta. When elected to office I will be very conservative with new development in our city. The incumbent and past city councils have been too developer friendly in my opinion.
  • Without water we have nothing. I am in favor of looking into alternative water sources for the city. Two immediate idea's jump to mind: A joint venture with UCSB for a desalinization plant and / or tapping directly into the state water pipeline.

Experiencia

Biografía

I was born in Goleta and raised in Santa Barbara.  I moved to Goleta in 2010 because my wife and I liked the community and thought it would be a great place to raise our two young boys.   During the past six years I have become more aware of the problems that this city is facing and I thought I should run for city council to help out in any way I can.  My goal is to be a voice of the people and I am a concerned resident of this city just like you.

Filosofía política

  • Goleta is a wonderful, quiet coastal town and I want to see it stay that way.  We can’t stop the development that is already approved and underway, but I will take a very conservative approach to all future development.
  • I am not seeking endorsements or accepting money from special interest groups.  Be wary of other candidates who are!  I don’t want to be encumbered with their “favors” once I am elected into office.  I am a person of the people and intend to be a voice for the people.
  • Water:  Without water we have nothing.  I would like to work closely with the Goleta Water District and expand our water sources.   Two immediate idea's jump to mind: A joint venture with UCSB for a desalinization plant and / or tapping directly into the state water pipeline at Cachuma Lake
  • The Revenue Neutrality Agreement: One of the biggest issue that Goleta faces is that the County of Santa Barbara is taking over $8 million dollars a year that is rightfully ours.  This amount will continue to grow and we are supposed to keep giving it up year after year, with no end in sight! The county is taking advantage of us and it’s wrong.  I will fight for our city and I fully intend to repeal the agreement with the county.
  • I am an problem solver and idea man.  I think outside the box to find solutions. Beyond our water issues and money problems with the county, I have innovative and unique ideas on how to shepherd this city into the future.
  • Old Town Goleta: I would love to see old town turn into more of a destination for locals and tourists alike.  The first thing that needs to be done is beautification and unification of architecture standards. Downtown Santa Barbara is beautiful with its adoption of Spanish style buildings.  It would be great if old town could do the same thing, but adopting a different style of architecture that would make it different and unique from Santa Barbara.
