Biography

Julia Donoho, AIA, Esq. is an award winning Architect and Attorney, who has run her own firm, has worked in county government managing capital projects, and has trained with top architects.  Her most recent projects include the Comprehensive Energy Project for the County of Sonoma, including a fuel cell power plant and many energy efficiency upgrades; the Family Justice Center; multiple projects for law enforcement; and numerous projects for other county departments like Human Services and the Auditor Controller treasurer Tax Collector.  Her experience in government will be especially helpful to the Town of Windsor.

Donoho is the parent of a teenager who was raised here in Windsor, going to school, playing soccer in our parks, and enjoying the movies at the Town Green.  The family stuck it out through the recession, despite being upside down in their house that was purchased at the height of the housing bubble.  Prayer for good neighbors was rewarded as most residents of her street turned in their keys and new residents moved in.  It has been rewarding to survive the recession in place.

Donoho has a track record of public service with many years as a planning commissioner, historic preservation board member, and on steering committees for community visioning and strategic plans.  Donoho has served on the local, state and national boards of her professional association – the American Institute of Architects – and on the Board of The Jefferson Society, the Beverly Willis Architectural Foundation and the Streamline Institute.  As a national board member of the AIA, Donoho led the nomination of Julia Morgan, FAIA, a California native, to be the first woman to receive the Gold Medal in Architecture.
